Participant Information

This page is for program participants who have already been accepted into the 2016 program.

Program Fee:

There is a $300.00 program fee required for participation in this program, due by February 28, 2016. This may be paid by credit card online via our secure system at https://iesec.uno.edu/intled/students/payment.aspx or by check made payable to the University of New Orleans and mailed to:

Course credit:

Should students wish to receive credit for their participation in the program, they must notify Mary Hicks prior to payment of the initial program fee (see above). The following steps must also be completed:

Students receiving credits will be admitted to UNO as guest students for the summer 2016 semester, and enrolled in 4 credit hours of senior level Biology credit.

Should students need assistance with information to be provided to your home institution, please contact Mary Hicks.

Upon completion of the program, an official transcript will be sent to the student's home institution. It is entirely up to the student's home institution to determine how the credit will be transferred.

Medical Requirements:

This will be covered during the seminar (as will details on how to apply for a Gabon visa), but the CDC Gabon webpage also has all the relevant information: http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/gabon

The essentials are a Yellow Fever vaccination and malaria prophylaxis, but you will also want to make sure your other routine vaccinations are up to date.
