University of Georgia
Eligibility & Admission
University of Georgia students participating in The International Summer School earn nonresident, transfer credit, issued by the University of New Orleans. Grades earned on this program are calculated into the student's overall GPA at UGA. UGA students are responsible for knowing and understanding UGA academic issues and degree requirements as they relate to transfer credit.
UGA students who are eligible to receive the HOPE scholarship and other types of federal, state and institutional financial aid and who participate in The International Summer School may be able to use their financial aid and scholarship monies towards the cost of The International Summer School. The amount of HOPE scholarship received for the cost of the study program is based upon the number of hours for which the student is enrolled overseas. UGA students who are eligible for student financial aid will obtain it through UGA.
UGA students participating in The International Summer School must complete a Study Abroad Credit Approval Form and submit it to the Office of International Education at least 3 weeks before departure. This will allow students to determine course equivalents for International Summer School courses and will inform the Registrar of the student's intention to study abroad. Students who do not fill out this form will not receive any financial aid or scholarship monies. The Study Abroad Credit Approval Form can take up to three weeks to complete. Students are advised to complete it as soon as they decide to participate in the program. UGA Students can download a copy of the Study Abroad Credit Approval Form here.
