Dates, Fees and Payment Terms

Program Dates for Academic Year 2017/18:

Fall 2017 Semester: September 24, 2017 - February 2, 2018**
Spring 2018 Semester: February 26, 2018 - July 3, 2018**

**Please note: Some exams may take place after this date. Please confirm with program administration before purchasing your flights.

Costs Include:

  • UNO tuition and fees for full time enrollment
  • High quality student housing for 6 or 12 months
  • Meal allowance

  • All orientation materials on-site
  • All housig and meal costs during orientation
  • Transit pass during orientation
  • Most course materials

  • Membership in the Austro-American Society of Tirol
  • Access to the AYA on-site office

  • University and transcript fees

*Students who attend AYA for only one semester must obtain a visa from the Austrian Embassy prior
to their departure and pay any related consular fees. The cost of a residency permit for students attending AYA for the full academic year will be covered on site by the AYA program.

Costs do not Include:

  • Passport fees
  • Laundry
  • Telephone calls
  • Meals other than those specified
  • Personal travel expenses
  • Items of a personal nature
  • Textbooks
  • Visa fees not specified by the program

Payments & Refunds

Payments

1.
Please make all payments promptly. We can not guarantee a place in the program unless all payments are made on schedule.
2.
A deposit of $300.00 is required with the application ($150.00 deposit and $150 non-refundable application fee).
3.
A second payment of $700.00 is due upon acceptance into the program.

Your program balance is due on the dates listed below.

June 15 - AYA Fall Semester
November 15 - AYA Spring Semester

If you are unable to pay your balance by the these dates due to loans or financial aid, please contact the Division of International Education to set up an individualized payment schedule.

Those applying after June 15th for Fall or November 15th for Spring (provided that space is available) must remit the entire program cost with the application.*

Refunds

1. All monies will be refunded in full to students who are not accepted into AYA Program less the $150.00 application fee.
2.

The $150.00 deposit is fully refundable if a student withdraws from the program voluntarily by:

June 15 - Fall AYA Semester
November 15 - Spring AYA Semester

3. A cancellation fee of $300.00 in addition to the $150.00 deposit will be assessed for cancellations after:

June 15 - Fall AYA Semester
November 15 - Spring AYA Semester

4.

A cancellation fee of $800.00 in addition to the $150.00 deposit will be assessed for cancellations after:

July 15 - Fall AYA Semester
December 15 - Spring AYA Semester

5.

Only those monies that can be recovered from vendors by the university will be refunded, less the $800.00 cancellation fee and $150.00 deposit after:

August 1 - Fall AYA Semester
January 1 - Spring AYA Semester

6. There are no refunds for withdrawals on or after:

September 1 - Fall AYA Semester
February 1 - Spring AYA Semester
7. The effective date of a cancellation shall be the date that written notice is received by the Program Coordinator at the University of New Orleans.
8.
Refund policies apply to all students regardless of date of application or circumstance.
  NOTE: The participant remains ultimately responsible for the payment of all program costs regardless of any circumstances such as but not limited to the deferment of payments against the anticipated arrival of financial aid.
