Accommodations are arranged in advance of your arrival to Innsbruck. Participants are housed in the Internationales Studentenhaus, which remains open during the holiday periods and the semester break. To enhance your cultural experience and language proficiency, you will be roomed with a native German-speaking student. The Studentenhaus is a convenient walk to most classrooms and a ten minute walk from the center of the City of Innsbruck. Built in 1964 for the Winter Olympics and recently completely renovated, this well maintained facility has been used for accommodations of UNO's study abroad programs in Innsbruck for the past 30 years. The Internationales Studentenhaus The University of New Orleans has a thirty-year relationship with this excellent student dorm, which is located three minutes from the main section of the University of Innsbruck, where most classes are held. It is within convenient, easy walking distance of all major lines of public transportation, grocery stores and other necessary shops, and the historic Old Town. It is a state-of-the-art facility, with strict house rules for cleanliness and security. All rooms include bed and bedding w/linens, desk, light, chair, shelves, and wardrobe for each student, as well as a personal telephone, private shower, toilet and kitchen facilities, and hook-ups for internet and cable T.V. Private bathroom and kitchenette facilities may be shared with your German-speaking roommate(s), depending upon your final room/unit assignment. Floor maids thoroughly clean the floors, surfaces, showers/toilet and kitchen areas in the rooms at least twice a month. Laundry facilities, lounges, music room, game room, T.V. room, meditation room, fitness room and computer room are available in-house, as well as 24-hour front desk staffing for security.
