We're Back!
The University of New Orleans campus and the IELP closed August 29, 2005 after Hurricane Katrina struck the city. Now we're back! UNO has almost 12,000 students and the IELP has 30 students from 20 different countries!
The IELP has had guest speakers explaining the history and culture of Mardi Gras. They also will have a Mardi Gras Safety Talk to prepare students for the excitement of Mardi Gras Day.
The University of New Orleans and the IELP are offering more sports and cultural events than ever before. Students can attend UNO basketball and baseball games free with their I.D. cards. There are also fun pre-game tailgate parties with music, food, and drink. In addition, UNO is offering Movie Nights, a coffee house with live music, and a games room with pool, darts and video games. The IELP continues having its after-class activities and field trips. This session we went to lunch at the Alpine Restaurant in the French Quarter. Remember Rami Bader, an IELP student? He's the manager and was happy to serve us.
